Colour Play – The spectrum of the traverso flute in works & arrangements of works

In discovering the seven spectral colours of white light in the 18^th century, Isaac Newton not only revolutionized optics but also set into motion a spirited dialogue between science and the arts: It is not easy to wrap one’s mind around how the objective laws of nature translate into the play of millions of colours that constitute subjective perception. Following her fulminant performance at the opening concert 2025, Laura Quesada has developed her own programme, pursuing the correspondence of colours, emotions, and music, with a rich palette and dramatic contrasts.
